This month ReadWorks highlights articles about exploration for every grade level. It is difficult in this day and age to comprehend what discovery and exploration was like when Columbus sailed the ocean blue... yet, there are many parallels for ideas of exploration.
In October, the leaves begin to transition and change their hue, as do our classrooms as we settle into the rhythms of established routines and structure. Teachers and students hold on to the past lessons learned and delve deeper into rich concepts that have yet to be explored. Let's not forget to weave in celebrations and enjoy this special time of year. There are many lessons that we need to cover that make a difference and will be stored in memories from childhood. 'Tricks and Treats' are still so important to creating memories that last. Let's carve out some time to create joy in every day that we teach!
