Walking along the beach in the summer is where I do a lot of reflecting and thinking. My thoughts are not always about school but often times I have a way of using and applying my revelations to teaching and learning. I sometimes wish I could schedule this personal pleasure into every day, because I know that most great ideas are born from quiet thinking time. The ocean (Manasquan, NJ is the beach I call home) contributes to the mood and the process, by it's rhythm and beauty. There is an overwhelming power in the sea that creates a sense of wonder. This summer, as I plan for the 2014-2015 school year, I'll search for ideas to improve my practice. Along with the brainstorming sessions with those who I am fortunate to work with, I will continue to walk along the beach, take note of all that surrounds me and think about how I can use what I notice to make next year a better learning community. A blog is born!
