Little Silver is prepared for the PARCC assessment because our teachers have been working hard during the last three years to enhance their instructional practices that support the high standards. I urge everyone to read beyond the negativity and give this new stage of standardized assessments the chance to be what was promised. Transition takes time and it is required for positive change. March Madness usually refers Basketball and I remember when I was in the classroom, I would try to find clever ideas to bring the game into my lessons for student motivation and engagement. For those who know my lack of 'sports' expertise you may find humor there. This March, something else comes to my mind when I think of madness. Madness has a new connotation for many in education. The 'craze' with PARCC, especially public opinion, which in my opinion is based on a lot of misinformation, is high and impacting district's across the state.
