Most importantly, spend time with your family, friends and children by making the next eight weeks memorable. Those experiences that make memories are not insignificant because they will give connections to life's lessons. When I read books such as Firefly, When the Relatives Came, or Beach Party, I had real world experiences to connect to and visualize that improved my comprehension and understanding. Reading about immigrants coming to America takes on more meaning if you have been to Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty. Do it! Create those experiences for your children- it is an investment of time that can not be measured and will forever be valued.
